The mission plans to develop the 10.5-acre farm, located in one of the city’s largest food deserts, into an agricultural job-training, outdoor classroom and community farmers market. That has been CEO Ju’Coby Pittman’s vision for the farm since it was established on Moncrief Road in 2012.“This is really a symbol of hope for the community,” said Pittman after Thursday’s groundbreaking. “I’m on Cloud 99.”
